FAQ’s
Q: Why choose Goat’s Milk Soap? What makes it so great?
A: Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. This leaves new cells on the surface of your skin that is smoother and younger looking. The alpha-hydroxy acids are so effective because they break down the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. Removing dead skin cells will help many skin conditions by removing irritation. Water-based soaps may use harsh chemical acids to accomplish this, frequently with skin-damaging results. Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin such as selenium. Selenium is believed by scientists to have an important role in preventing skin cancer. Selenium can also help prevent damage to the skin from excessive time in the sun. Although the water used in other soaps may contain minerals such as calcium, sodium, or iron (commonly found in tap water), that’s not much help when it comes to your skin. (sourced from Goat Milk Stuff). This soap is ideal for individuals who have sensitive skin and may have such skin conditions as Eczema or Psoriasis. While it does not cure these skin conditions, it can certainly aid in locking in moisture and provide healing. Goat’s milk soap is also fantastic for individuals with Diabetes due to also healing dry, flaky skin.
Q: You say your soap is cold process. What does this mean?
A: Cold process soap is made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide lye. That causes a chemical reaction called saponification, which is the chemical reactions that turn the fatty acids into what we call soap. This process dates back to be very old and was known to be the very first way soap was made with animal fats. Cold Process soaps are known for their rich lather as well as locking in rich moisture.
Q: Why do my soap’s coloration look different from the pictures?
A: My soap is done in small batches (waste not, want not). I do not use ANY additives for dye and the soaps are all natural in coloration. Some fragrances cause different reactions and can take on different hues in color. Or, easier said, it’s one of a kind
